Track Training Pace Chart

14 August 2019 - By Scott Darney

During the Thursday track sessions, the suggested pace of the efforts is generally either 5k, 10k or HM pace but it can be hard to know if you are running at the right pace with GPS being questionable over the shorter intervals.

Whilst the idea is to learn to run these paces by feel so that you don’t need a GPS fix to know how fast you are running, this is of course a bit or an art and you will probably need some tools and data to enable you to hone this skill.

As such please see attached a pace to give you an idea of what your lap time should be for each of the paces you will need to run.

To use the chart, just look at your current or goal race time for the distance and look across to see what your pace is for that time and what your lap time should be if you are running at this pace.

Any questions let me know.
