Another mix of events this week, with some mid-week fun and some distant marathons!

Tarmac Twister – 6(ish) miles

An approximately six-mile, self-navigated evening trail around the streets of Chelmer Village, organised by Essex Trail Events. A fab turnout this year from WRC, with some doing a *bit* more mileage than others (in fact, quite a lot of people seem to have done at least 7 miles!). Well done to Vicki Riley, who finished 2nd lady (and presumably had better navigation-reading skills than most!)

Yorkshire 10 Mile and Yorkshire Marathon

Starting and finishing at the University of York, the Yorkshire Marathon and Yorkshire 10 Mile form part of the Altra Yorkshire Running Festival. Both road races take runners through York and the surrounding countryside, with a shared finish at the university.

Kerry, Annie and Dionne all achieved their copper standards in the 10 mile, and Graham Eyre set a new MV70 marathon club record, running his first marathon in over 10 years! Loving how competitive our MV70 category is right now!

A special mention to Lisa Leader who, despite a fantastic training block, unfortunately had to retire from the Abingdon marathon 15 miles in after a nasty fall. We wish you well, Lisa, and look forward to seeing you achieving your marathon goal next time around.
