Witham RC members visited Highwoods, Maldon Prom, Bug Hunter Waters, Mersea Island, Great Notley, St Andrews, Walton Promenade, Leybourne Lakes, West Stow Country, Southwark, Great Lines, East Grinstead, Thurrock, Alton Water, ARU Writtle, Basildon and Peel parkruns, with the two furthest from Witham being Peel (Greater Manchester), St Andrews (Scotland).
Starting with our speediest WRC runners of the week, well done to our tourists to East Grinstead. Our fastest male was Giles Sowerby (19:47, 1st VM45-49, 2nd overall) and our fastest female was Karen Pickering (22:36 1st VW40-44 and 2nd Female). Karen also celebrated her 300th parkrun milestone! Well done!

Far away from Witham was Jamie Marlow (20:11) visiting Peel parkrun up in Greater Manchester. The Wallens were of course in Scotland, completing St Andrews: Tony Wallen (22:20) and Brigid Wallen (24:38).

Over in London was Banksy (22:33) at Southwark. Moving to Cambridgeshire, we had Chris Beazeley (23:15) completing Bug Hunter Waters.

Coming into our own county, we had a few solo parkrunners: Adam Hocken (24:52) in Mersea Island, Michael Poulter (32:25) doing Walton Promenade, Lee Tooey (23:36) at Thurrock and Fiona Collins (35:25) over at Basildon.

Sian Tate (25:37) and James Attenborough (25:38) decided to tackle ARU Writtle for the first time, whereas over at Highwoods in Colchester we had Leo Cole (22:01), Nicola Digby (35:48) and Bethany Shippey (36:50).

Over at our regularly attended Maldon Prom we had Dean Whittaker (23:50), Nadia McLeod (23:54 & 1st SW30-34), Ian Cuthbert (23:55), Steve Hookings (24:55), Alan Cutler (24:57), Claire Lucas (26:14), Louise Darcy (28:13), Christine Wager (28:18), Andrew White (30:24), Ross Silverton (32:01), Joe McEwan (32:38), Sue Smith (35:06) and Patrick Hinchliffe (38:38). Ian Lucas was a Marshal this week, and Dean Whittaker gave the First Timer’s Welcome before the run and was a Barcode Scanner after.
And finally, at Great Notley, well done to Clive Smith (23:45), Simon Parsons (25:57), Dawn Shilling (32:42) and Lysia Jiggins (34:22).

Hallowe’en and November’s parkrun tourism
Hallowe’en this year is on a Saturday! Will you be dressing up? It’s also WRC pacing that day in Maldon… would be great to see lots of costumes!
We will also be doing a bit of WRC tourism next month on the 28th November to Ely to complete Ben’s Yard. Add it to the diary, post to follow!
