NESS XC 2026/27 – R1 Results – Halstead at Gosfield

26 October 2026 - By Jodee Mayer

A sunny, if a *bit* blustery (understatement of the year?!), start to the XC season this year, and a return to the motocross course of Gosfield – I think the word of the day as people crossed the line was brutal…

Halstead would like some feedback on whether to keep the motocross course section in for next year, with a note that the alternative is a run around a boring (my description) field, so please do message me with any comments to pass on 🙂

A massive thanks to our bakers Clare and Monty, and to our cheerer and photo taker, Angela.

Team Results

Our men came 4th, our women came 5th and we finish ….. 4th! Don’t be disheartened, this is where we started last season and we rose up the ranks!

With many an international and local race this weekend, we had a depleted turn out from WRC, and I think Gt Bentley’s enormous turnout has shown the importance of numbers at these events – so we look forward to seeing more black and gold at the next event on 15 November (TBC – race licence pending!). We all know I like to see WRC above GBRC in these tables, and it appears from their reduced numbers that CHAC are focusing elsewhere this season (though this is the only weekend where the Essex league and Ness are on the same weekend), and they were the only team ahead of us in the Pool A for the last 2 seasons, just saying.
