Vitruvian Triathlon 14th Sep
14 September 2025 - By Anita Grainger
Heydon Mizon took on Vitruvian 70.30 triathlon today up in Rutland. The swim (1.9km) is in the clear waters of Rutland water in Whitwell Creek , the bike (90km) heads round the reservoir for 3 laps with a few lumps and considered a fast course with the run (21.1km/ Half Marathon) route along the side of the water and pretty flat with the turn point at Normanton Church. The race also included the National Armed Forces Championship- they are so fast!
Heydon apparently went a little off course on the swim and was sorted out by a a marshal in a kayak guiding him back on course. This didn’t stop him putting in a good swim split followed by a speedy bike leg and run to finish 3rd in his age group and knocking 18minutes off his previous 70.3 time. Amazing, well done Heydon!
