Maldon Summer 5k Series Race 3 – provisional results

Some runners appear to have had 3 seconds added on to their times so these may change but, given it was not chip timed, I doubt it. 11 club members ran Maldon with Chris Martin coming home in 5th place as best placed in WRC. 3 PBs (Nik Bainbridge, Sue Smith & Julia Bacon) and 3 SBs with Anita, Sylvie and Martina continuing to improve.

The Maverick Inov-8 Original Surrey – 25k trail race

Should you stumble across a hellish, hilly, long trail race whilst out at the weekend always keep an eye open for Matt Jordan and/or Terry Alabaster, who are vying for James Blackshaw’s crown of “The Craziest Trail Runner in WRC”. Their latest head to head was at the Maverick Inov-8 Original in the Surrey Hills with Matt coming home in 25th place and Terry in 128th.

Worthing 10k

Down in very Sunny Worthing 3 members took on the flat course, which would be super quick if it wasn’t for the heat this race in usually undertaken in, and this year was no exception. With around 2400 runners, it was a busy one!!

Stour Valley Marathon

Apparently it was hot – who’d have thought!! This “just under 27 miles” trail whopper is the place in East Anglia where dreams (but thankfully not members) go to die. Well done everyone – same time next year?
