TONIGHT’S TRACK 5K – FINAL INSTRUCTIONS

Please see below for volunteer positions (thank you all!) and race start times.

The track address is Panfield Lane, Braintree, CM7 1FF – there is parking on site, but it can get busy so please leave time to find a spot and park courteously!

5k is 12.5 laps of the 400m track. You will start at the halfway mark. After you pass the lap counters for the first time you will have 12 laps to go.

PLEASE NOTE: GPS is not reliable on the track and your watches will unlikely be accurate unless you have set up and calibrated the track feature which is now on some watches (if you haven’t used this feature before, your watch is still unlikely to be right). The lap counters will let you know when you have 1 lap remaining.

Race vests are optional (but encouraged!).

Race 1 – 8:00pm – Please get to the track for 7:40 in order to get your race number, and be ready and warmed up by 7:55. You must not use the track to warm up, as another group will be using it.

Race 2 – 8:25pm – Please get to the track for 8:05 in order to get your race number, and be ready and warmed up by 8:20. You must not use the track to warm up, as race 1 will still be taking place!

Please arrive from 7:40pm; if you could bring a pen (and maybe a clipboard or something similar so you have something to lean on!) that would be helpful, but I will bring some pens and as many clipboards as DJ could find in the storage unit as well.

If you can let me know if you can only stay for R1 or will only be there in time for R2 that would be helpful.
