Thursday’s Session – Here we go!

10 August 2016 - By Martyn Byford

We will meet at the Leisure Centre at 7.30 with departure for Armond Road Railway Bridge at 7.35.

Following drills the session will involve 15 minutes of out and back from the Bridge to either Chipping Hill Bridge or Guithavon Road. Once reaching these points take a 30 second break before returning to Armond Road Bridge where there will be a one minute recovery.

After 15 minutes a well deserved 3 minute rest including liquid refreshment then its swap routes for the second 15 minutes.

Each effort is approximately 400 metres but with only a 30 second rest it will feel more like 800 metres or 1/2 mile.

The key for tonight’s session  is pacing,  in other words the first 400 should be run cautiously with a marked increase in pace on the return leg. I will rely on each group to time their 30 second recoveries from the last finisher in their group.

For those with Garmins the measure of pace judgement will be the spread throughout the 30 minutes for the 800s.

A session suitable for everyone and I look forward to seeing you there.

If you prefer to join us at Armond Road then please do so.

I will look after drink bottles and any kit.

Martyn
