Pub runs are back – well nearly!

12 April 2018 - By Stewart Waller

Next Tuesdays run will be the last from the football club until we return there on the 11th September. Yes, after eight months of pounding the dark Witham streets, pub runs are back. The full schedule can be viewed in the ‘Training’ link above and the more astute among you will notice a new venue plus a welcome return, after a few years, to an old favourite.

For our newer members all the pub runs will obviously be new so a few words on the subject…

As far as possible we choose pubs that are within a reasonable radius of Witham; have an interesting and safe route and offer good food at a reasonable price. Sometimes things go wrong, which is why one or two pubs have been dropped, but by and large those selected meet the criteria.

You are encouraged to make use of the pub after your run if only for a drink. It’s an opportunity to socialise with other members and there is no reason why spouses etc should not also come along. Please order and pay for food before the run.

Unfortunately, at some of the pubs car parking is very limited so, whenever possible, please try to car share and if parking on the road or side streets consider local residents.

So, as is traditional, our first run will be from The Willows in Cressing village
on the 24th.

See you there.

Stew
