Wales Trail Half Marathon

In what is becoming an annual pilgrimage for James Kennerley and pals, just so they can post on Strava how tough and brutal this gentle run through the welsh countryside is, this year was 3rd consecutive visit.

Scott Darney was 10th in the Open Category & James Crisp 3rd in the MV40’s

Name Time
Scott Darney 01:42:14 10th Open Cat
James Crisp 01:44:40 3rd MV40
Bill Smythe 02:01:40
James Kennerley 02:22:25

Ridley Round Trail Half

Much more in keeping with WRC tradition, and a lot more local, was the Ridley Round Half. As the name suggests, a well known brewer lends it’s name to this half marathon through the fields where you earn extra points for drinking a pint at each pub you stop at. Andy White managed an impressive 4.5 pints, but modesty does not permit me to share how many Emma Austin, Becky Grimwood, Tracey Martin, Jo Smythe and Penny Clarke consumed.

We are still awaiting the final results, but I don’t think the finishing times were foremost on people’s minds!

Ranelagh Harriers Richmond 10K

Mark Finbow was running over in Richmond at the Ranelagh Harriers 10k securing an impressive PB in a time of 0:34:32 taking well over 30 secs off his previous best

Run Bedford 10k

Giles Sowerby ventured to Bedford to take on the super flat and fast course, on a muggy, breezy day coming home in 0:40:02
