Weekend Race Results

Wednesday

Tarmac Twister

Bill Smythe, Brigid Wallen and Terry Alabaster ran this new event over a 6 mile route on the paths of Springfield with head torches whilst reading route instructions. Bill ran 48.21 and Brigid and Terry 56.51. They had to collect 3 tokens on the way round. Gerry Greenwold also ran as an unofficial runner as the race entry was full. He acted as token carrier!

Saturday

Loch Kinord 10k, Deeside

David Stevens finished 7th in a time of 40:02 at the Loch Kinord 10k trail race up in Scotland.

Sunday

Leigh on Sea 10k

Ross Silverton was over in Leigh on Sea for this popular race finishing in a time of 57:13

Chelmsford Marathon

Sean Darney was 12th over the finish line in a big PB time of 2:56:36, Matt Jordan finishing in a very respectable 3:33:39 considering he ran Saltmarsh 75 a few weeks ago; and, David Church returning from injury in 3:52:35

Wix 5 – County & Club Champs

Chip times updates

Another great day out with loads of PBs. Looks like the chip to chip timing failed, so let me know if I have missed any PBs’

Rachel Sweatt was 1st lady over the line and wrapped up the County Champs as well, with the ladies team getting Bronze also. Mark Finbow (racing in his South London Harriers colours) was 1st man over the line in 4th place, with James Crisp 1st in official colours!!

Well done to all the 1st timers racing the 5 mile distance – some great times.
