Race Results w/e 28/07/19

Four members of WRC toed the line for this inaugural ultra marathon from the Essex Trail Events guys: Brigid Wallen, Matt Jordan, Jason Lilley, and Terry Alabaster. Brigid got to mile 20 and decided that, after a week of high mileage, to pull the plug, and in her words “I’m not disappointed, just worried that I’m getting sensible in my old age!”. At mile 15 Matt was enjoying the fact that the input and output functions of his digestive system were having a little race of their own to see which could evacuate the contents of his stomach the fastest. It ended a draw, and it’s fair to say there is now some very nicely fertilised spots around the course, but unfortunately it cost Matt the race, and at 25 miles he retired to the nearest public lavatory. Meanwhile, Jason and Terry bravely soldiered on, and though official times are not yet available, they finished together in just a smidge over 7 hours.
