March 2026

A hearty congratulations to our CMOTM for March 2026: Shane Ketteridge – Shane is going from strength to strength with his marathon training, and this month he paced at the Colchester half and ran his first 20-mile race. Well done Shane, and good luck in London!

  • February 2026

After being announced at the AGM, a huge well done to our CMOTM for February 2026: Nadia McLeod. She was nominated for consistently showing up and improving week on week resulting in a huge PB at Great Bentley Half Marathon in a time of 1:44. Fantastic effort, well done Nadia!

  • January 2026

Well done to the first CMOTM for 2026 – Andy Lager! This was awarded for being the first VM50-55 at Maldon parkrun where he is a regular participant, a scorer at NESS XC and also being a regular club runner. Well done, Andy!

  • December 2025

And for our final CMOTM of 2025… well done to Karen Flowers! This has been awarded for taking on the role of Race Director for BD5. Karen does so much for the club in her role as chair (which of course we don’t get to nominate her for!), so to take on RDing of our flagship race, and make it a great success, really is above and beyond. Well done, Karen!

  • November 2025

A hearty congratulations for the Club Member of the Month for November 2025: Richard Joisce. Richard stood out this month for an act of real character at the Essex League race in Hainault. He stopped mid-race to help an unwell runner and made sure they received first aid, despite it being the day before his own wedding. He still represented Witham brilliantly and set an example the whole club can be proud of.

  • October 2025

Well done to our winner of CMOTM for October 2025: Vicky Hunt! Vicky ran a time of 3:13 at the Chelmsford Marathon, placing her as 3rd lady & 1st FV45 in her age group, as well as being a club record and huge PB by 22 minutes. Fantastic work, Vicky!

  • September 2025

We had a lot of nominations for CMOTM for September 2025, but the winner is Ian Lucas! He was nominated for not only having a great run at the Great North Run – his 18th time of running it, but for also running his first ultra marathon- the Suffolk Coastal Ultra a week later whilst helping to pace his daughter! “Not bad for a 68-year-old!” – well done Ian!

  • August 2025

A huge congratulations to our CMOTM for August 2025 has been awarded to Jenny Layley. This was for her hosting of the Summer BBQ. Well done, it was appreciated by all!

  • July 2025

Well done to our winner of CMOTM for July 2025 – Ian Cuthbert. He was nominated for a great month of running, starting with great performances at the JR5k final and Ekiden, and ending with the hilly 45-mile St Cuthbert’s Way Ultra where he supported Chrissy for the first 26.2 miles, and going on to complete his first ultra.

  • June 2025

Congratulations this month are awarded to Annalise Etherington for her PBs at the John Roberts 5k (Race 3) and the Springfield Friday Night 5, within a week of each other. Coming off the back of a 10k PB in May, Annalise is going from strength to strength!

  • May 2025

This month’s congratulations are given to Sian Tate for CMOTM for May! For coming back from Lake Garda just 5 weeks previously, to achieving a huge PB at Halstead, whilst battling through the heat (again) to achieve it. Through sheer determination to have the run of her life and complete a sub 5 marathon that we all knew was well within her reach, Sian undertook hours of training, whilst balancing life and all its ups and downs and we are so incredibly proud of her. Not only that but then she went and got a 5k PB on none other than the John Roberts 5k route just 10 days later. Definitely going from strength to strength! Well done, Sian!

  • April 2025

Our CMOTM for April 2025 has been awared to Gemma Thomas – For being absolutely legendary, showing grit, determination and courage in the face of such adversity. After falling ill at mile 20 and spending 2hours in the medical tent, she still had the will to go on when most people would have pulled out. Walking 6 miles to the finish line to complete her first marathon, Gemma’s inspirational effort and admirable performance shows the true spirit of the marathon. An inspiration to all and raising funds for a very worthwhile cause.
