WRC Speed Development – Return to Group Training

You will be pleased to hear that we are running a trial socially distant speed development session this Thursday, 27 August 2020.

The session will be Jake Wightmans 2min/30/30 session as set out in my previous post and summarised below.

Session: 8 Sets of:

  • 2 mins effort / 30s recovery jog
  • 30s effort / 1 min recovery jog

The session will run at the “Parklife” park, near Witham Cricket Club off Maldon Road.

We will not be meeting at the Leisure Centre and instead we will meet at the Parklife park at the earlier time of 6:45pm for a 7pm Start.  We expect you to have performed your warm up jog prior to the session starting.   Here we will go through our usual dynamic warm-up routine and drills prior to an 8pm start time for the session.

In order to take part in the session you must first read the COVID-19 Health Screening Questionnaire and Disclaimer (you will need to log in to view).

Once you have read the Disclaimer, to take part in this weeks session please complete the form below which will provide the coaches with your name and mobile telephone number for track and trace purposes, and tick to confirm your agreement to the disclaimer.

Speed Development Session
I have read the WRC 'Return to Club Activities - Health Screening & Disclaimer' document and am able to answer 'No' to questions 1-4. I accept that all training is undertaken at my own risk and that it may be necessary to breach social distancing if medical treatment is required in an emergency. *

Important 

The current England Athletics guidelines restrict us to 12 persons per coach and as we usually have 2 coaches present we are currently limiting the sessions to 24 people; which will be operated on a first come, first served basis. Once we have reached 24 people, we will operate a waiting list from those who have requested to take part should anyone drop out. We will contact you if you are not in the initial 24 attendees and you will be added to the waiting list unless you advise us otherwise.

If you find that you nare no longer able to attend, or your details change after signing up, please notify the coaches so that we can update the information or fill your space from the waiting list.

This is just a trial for now. If succesful we will look to continue in this format until things change (hopfeully for the better).
