Five WRC runners were at this race hosted by Harwich Runners. Great 3rd place for the Heydonator, and a Gold Standard performance from Andy Watson.

Stort 30

Octavia Singleton was our only official competitor at this 30 mile trail out and back along the river Stort. She finished in 4:46:12 and came in as 4th lady. Liz Prior was working as a volunteer sweeping this event, so actually ran the first 15 miles putting out course markers, marshalled the turn around point, and then ran 15 miles back picking up the markers, and she managed to do all this in smidge under 7 hours. Good work both!

 

Essex XC League – Writtle

Angela Wray was our sole WRCer at this fixture, and managed to come 50th, in tough conditions. Good effort!

 

Begbury Forest Half Marathon

Dave Holditch got himself down to Begbury Forest for this trail half marathon, and finished in 2:11:39. Great stuff DH.

 

Toppesfield Terror 10

Wet and windy conditions at Toppesfield for this trail 10 miler. Brigid and Tony Wallen went round together in 1:44:32, and Andy White and Geoff Reddin also paired up to finish in 1:46:31.

 

Witch Finder Trail Run

Clarice Sanderson was at this 10k event near Manningtree, and managed to find the witch (I presume) in 50:54.

Thought for the week: “People will swim in the ocean, even though there are definitely corpses in it, but people will not swim in a pool with a single corpse in it. This means that humans all have an acceptable corpse-to-water ratio that is acceptable for them to swim in.”
