The WRC 2018 5k Track Champs – Friday 21st

Friday 21^st September 7:30pm – Braintree Tabor Track

As this is the only Track 5k for WRC members in 2018, it is as close to being the WRC 5k Track Champs as you are going to get. It’s also the last 5k race in the 2018 Club Champs and sure to be a night of PB’s and maybe we’ll see some club records broken.

Everything is paid for so, upon arrival, walk past reception and out to the track, which is over to the left once you step outside.

Volunteer information

If you can, please volunteer. We need plenty to help with the lap counting and timing. Volunteers should arrive by 7:15pm to receive full training and support – it’s great fun, so give it a try. If you can help out please leave your name on Facebook or the Website.

Runner information

The Races (Yes – plural!!)

There will be 2 mixed races which are open to ALL club members, including juniors. Race 1 is for members with a 5k PB of over 22 minutes, and Race 2 for those members who run under 22 minutes.

There will be awards for the fastest man and lady in each race, along with a “new” team award, which will be explained on the night.

19:10-19:25              Register and receive your number

19:30-20:00’ish        Race 1

20:00-20:22’ish        Race 2

20:25-20:30              Awards and Official Times for each runner

Runners are encouraged to get there with plenty of time to warm up. To coin the well-worn phrase “you cannot warm up enough for a 5k race” so all runners are encouraged to get nice and sweaty before they toe-the-line.
