Witham Community Day – volunteers please!

17 May 2019 - By Marc Underdown

Our club obviously has its home in Witham and a lot of our members live in the town. I was made aware of the Witham Community Day which the town council are organising on Saturday 8th June. Following our most recent committee meeting we agreed to look into to have a ‘stall’ at the event in order to promote our club and hopefully attract some new members.

I’m pleased to report that we have been given a place in the Maldon Road park venue. The Community Day runs from 10:30 to 15:30, and we will probably need to be there a bit before and after to set up the gazebo and sails etc. It would be great if we can get volunteers to come along to help ‘man’ our station during the day. It would be good to have a rota and split it up, so whether you can do one hour, two hours, or more, any help would be great. All you would need to do is talk to people about what we do and how brilliant we are!

If you are willing and able to help, please can you either reply to this post or the Facebook post, indicating any time constraints or wishes.

We are also looking into a similar arrangement at the Witham Colour Run that is being held at the Rugby Club on 22nd June. We’re still firming up details on that one, so there will be a separate post about this if this come to fruition.

Many thanks, Marc
