Weekend Race Results w/e 28/10

28 October 2018 - By Steve Hennings

Saturday

Hadleigh Tough 10k, Hadleigh

Sandy Karl can confirm that the “tough” in the race name was an accurate description finishing in 1:05:29

Essex Cross Country League, Hockley – qualification for inter counties

Rachel Sweatt loves cross country – just ask her the next time you see her!! So when Essex AA had the impertinence to make people qualify for the SEAA InterCounties on the 8th December in Oxford she had to go and show them who is boss.

The first six finishers in each age group gained automatic selection to represent Essex with Rachel coming in 3rd lady

Sunday

Auckland Half Marathon, Auckland, New Zealand

Quite a long way to travel for a half marathon, only to find out it was a hilly affair when he got there. Rocking a pair of very natty sunglasses, Simon Creswell finished in a time of 1:31:10

Thurrock 10k, Thurrock

Thurrock doesn’t really come to mind when looking for somewhere to run a nice scenic 10k, but apparently it was not quite as ugly as Ben Miller expected. Running with his MRG buddies, Ben finished in a time of 0:55:08

Stort 30, Bishop’s Stortford

As the skies opened this morning, 4 club members nervously headed for Bishop’s Stortford for this 30 mile trail race, only to find the weather was actually not bad with plenty of sunshine on hand.

Just to let you know that we will be taking orders through the Club Kit page for Danny’s upcoming book titled “How to run an ultra without doing any (and I mean any) training”. Further details will be published shortly on the website.
