Braintree 5

The second Essex Championship race of the season saw an excellent turnout from the WRC massive. James Crisp and Rachel Sweatt theoretically crossed the line together, though JC seemed to have a one second advantage on the gun time!

We also  won 3 County Medals! Rachel Sweatt got silver in the ladies open category, Mark Austin got silver in the vet 60 category,  and there was a Bronze for the Ladies Team of Rachel , Hayley and Tanya. Fantastic effort all!

Blackwater Ultramarathon/Half Marathon

Jason Lilley took on his second ultramarathon in as many months, participating in this new event along the River Blackwater. Official times don’t appear to be online yet, but according to Strava, Jason completed the course in a magnificent 9:44:50. Cant wait to see which ultra he’s doing next month!

Sylvia Bullen-Bell complete the half marathon event, and finished in approximately 2:35, after struggling home with an injury.

Thaxted Marathon

Andy Lager and Billy Smythe were doing the trail navigation thing again, and on Sunday were at the very hilly Thaxted marathon. Andy came 2nd and completed the course in 3:52:28, and Bill finished 4:18:00. Well done guys!

Well done everyone. Please let me know if I’ve missed you race or results.

Thought for the week: “If you believe that future generations will run computer simulations of humans societies, then you must also believe that we are living in one of those simulations.”

James, I was also at the Blackwater event, but did the half marathon. Finally limped to the finish with ITB issues in about 2.35. 🙁

    Thanks Sylvia, now updated.

  3. Bill Smythe says:

A great second place for Andy Lager.
