Pub runs – The Monkey, Terling

2 August 2017 - By Stewart Waller

It was a shame that our scheduled visit to The Onley Arms in Stisted had to be cancelled as it is certainly one of the best routes that we run but, as Colsey already explained in an earlier posting, the pub wasn’t very accomodating! Maybe better luck next year. Anyway, one pubs loss is another pubs gain as was witnessed by the numbers turning up at our substitute venue, The Monkey in Terling, where we were given a warm welcome and 41 members stayed after the run for food.

Next Tuesday we make our second visit of the summer to another favourite pub The Old Crown in Messing (CO5 9TU) but, as those who have been there before will know, parking is a nightmare so it is highly recommended that you car share and/or get there early. You may need to park by the church or anywhere along the roads leading to the pub, but please consider local residents.

See you there.

The Monkey would get my vote for “Pub run of the year” if we held one.

Yes excellent route. The Pub gets my vote, so far, for The Pint of Lime and Soda Trophy. A mere £2.90 ( yes that’s not a mistype). Enough to turn me to alcohol. 🙂
