October CMOTM

23 November 2022 - By Steven Alder

October’s CMOTM is Simon Cresswell for his 3 hour 10 minutes PB and Gold Standard at the Chelmsford Marathon knocking 10 minutes off his previous best time – set over 20 years ago. He completes his haul of Gold Standard times achieved at all the distances in 2022 plus a recent Essex Grand Prix silver.

We had some amazing nominees for October:

Kerry Townsend – For her run at the London Marathon and the impressive PB she ran of 5 hours 21 minutes which was an age graded PB of 50 minutes.

Liz Prior – For coming 5th lady at the Stort 30.

Matt Jordan – For his performance at the Stort 30. Matt ran 30 miles on rainy, muddy and slippery trails in 3:34 which is quicker than many of us can run a road marathon and finished in 2nd place, averaging just over 7 minute miles. Matt has run almost 3,500 miles so far this year!

Fiona Collins – For her dedication to her marathon training on top of starting a post-grad course and her amazing performance at the Dublin Marathon where her mile split times were very impressive and consistent.

Sharon Read – For her fantastic performance at the Amsterdam Marathon in a time of 3 hours 50 minutes which gained her a good for age place at London, after months of dedication. Whilst Amsterdam isn’t a PB, it showed what Sharon is capable of and is the biggest indicator yet that she is getting back to where she was before her knee surgery a few years ago.

Heydon Mizon – For his PB and Club Record at the London Marathon and organising the pub afterwards

Ian Cuthbert – For completing his first marathon.

Vicky Hunt – For being 3rd placed lady at the Chelmsford Marathon within a year of giving birth.

Sam Hajder – Sam has run a PB in his last 3 half marathons which shows a massive improvement.
