May Day 10 – Positions

As we get close to our MD10 race on the 5th May, it is time to place our excellent volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the day. If your name isn’t below and you are able to help volunteer, please get in touch.

A huge thank you to everyone, and please note double check in case you’ve got two roles! If you can please let me know you have seen this message, either by a direct message to me, or a comment on Facebook, then I’ll know you are aware. The below may get tweaked with some updates or further information (eg Marshal points). If you have any questions, also please speak to me.

Course Set Up – Signage

An arrival at 8am to the Rugby Club which will allow for you to be ready to go out on the course and get out the signs for the course for our runners and warning signs for cars.

Baggage Drop

Our racers will be able to drop off bags from 9:00am, so please arrive before then so that you can be ready to take people’s baggage. With their numbers they will be given a tear off strip to allow for them to add it to their bags. You will then be giving bags back to people after they return, using their numbers to match them with their bag.

Car Park Marshals

If you can arrive at the Rugby Club from 8am for the briefing and then help racers use the car parks and locate HQ. Volunteers will be using the Rugby Club car park, but the football club parking is unavailble for our event as they will be using it already.

Please arrive from 8am, as we will be setting up HQ, and the finish area (and making sure the chip timing company is happy with everything at both the start and finish).

Registration Desk

Please arrive before 9am to go through registration and sign our racers in. We may even have some on the day entries, so we have space for that too.

Announcer

Our announcer this year will be Simon Parsons. Please arrive before 9am, and make sure you keep up your drink levels during all your announcements and cheering!

Marshals

For our marshals out on the field, you will be on course as both the eyes for HQ of what is going on, and also to cheer our racers on. Please arrive at HQ before 9:30am so you can receive your briefing from Ian before you head out to your marshal points.
