Howard Williams Trophy

It’s that time of year when you, the runners, vote for the race you think was the best organised race in 2025 within the county of Essex.

Current holders of the trophy are Ingatestone Boys’ Own Club for the Ingatestone Five Mile Race.

The Howard Williams Trophy is awarded to the best road race in the Essex AA area as voted for by clubs. Each club will receive one vote, which will be determined by the race that receives the most individual votes from club members. You are unable to vote for our own club races – BD5 and MD10. Members need to consider the nuts and bolts of an efficiently organised race: ie parking, changing facilities/toilets, signage, marshalling, results service, presentation.
