February CMOTM

15 March 2022 - By Jason Lilley

CMOTM for February is Andrew Read for a superb month of running, achieving a PB at Great Bentley Half, completing his first Ultra Marathon at St Peters Way, and great performances in the 5K time trial and the final NESS XC fixture. Andrew shows great dedication to his training and is supportive and friendly to all.

It was a bumper month for nominations, any one of whom would have been a worthy winner.

Matt Jordan  – for coming 1st in the St Peters Way Ultra after leading from the start of the race. An amazing performance both with pace and finishing position.

Dan Griffiths – Dan had an outstanding run at Tarpley 20 finishing in sub 3 hours. His running is improving in leaps and bounds and he has become an integral part of the Tuesday night runs.

Paul Jiggins – for his committed training for a marathon. He perseveres on rubbish runs where the weather is awful and most people would stay home

Andy Notley – for his dedicated training and fantastic performance at St Peter’s Way Ultra.

Angela Wray – Angela turned up to every NESS XC fixture, finishing in the top 4 for WRC on every occasion except one (when she was 5th!). Also for her great performance as 2nd lady at the recent track 5k.

Mark Austin – Mark was the first male 60 in the Great Bentley Half Marathon. He has also reignited the Sunday sessions.

Celine Elson – for her PB at the Colchester Track 5k and the commitment she has shown to the club with her presence at all the x-country fixtures this season by running all the NESS races and both the Vets and Senior races.
