CMOTM July
25 August 2021 - By Bill smythe
Congratulations to Matt Jordan, July’s club member of the month. Matt had a fantastic month of running in July. He ran the Wendover Woods 100 mile ultra, and although he was forced to retire, he managed to cover 70 miles in 16 hours, climbing 14,000 feet in the process. A couple of weeks later he was back in action and knocked out a 3:10 marathon running on his own on a track just because he felt like it. A few days later he ran a fantastic 5k at the Angel, finishing in 18:24.
Some other great nominations
- Jenny Layley – For her performance at Rayne Revival at the weekend with a smile on her face the entire time. Jenny managed a marathon distance at the event of running as many 5.3km’s out and back along the flitch way and came 22nd.
- Peter Coates – for breaking the Angel 5k course record by 41 seconds. Peter is a great example to inspire people to either begin running or return to running.
- Andy Notley – For coming first in the Aquabike race at the Gosfield Triathlon
- Adam Regan – Progressive improvement in his long runs, achieved multiple ultras and striving for more
- Graham Eyre – For his ultra-marathon event in Devon which was 102km from Minehead to Somerset and incorporated nearly 8,000ft of climbing. Graham completed the event in 25 hours, 51 minutes
- Terry Alabaster – Completed an event in nearly every week in July and even won one of them
- Rebecca Richards – Rebecca achieved a half marathon PB at the Rayne Revival, and a 5k PB at the Angel 5k. She also managed a sub 25-minute buggy PB at Parkrun this month!
