John Roberts 5k – volunteer sign up for run 3 – 02 July 2026
29 June 2026 - By Jodee Mayer
For information about the series, please see the earlier post here.
The third, and final pre-handicap race of the JR5K series 2026 will take place on Thursday 02 July; this will replace the usual speed development session.
This will be your last opportunity to run or volunteer to qualify for the handicap. To answer a question I have received a few times, you need to have participated in at least 2 runs (at least 1 volunteer) to qualify. If you volunteered and ran at 1 run, you still need to participate in this run (run or volunteer).
Information for runners will follow, but in the meantime if you would like to complete your volunteer at this run, please read on.
Volunteering
As always these events wouldn’t be able to run without support from volunteers on marshaling, timekeeping, set-up etc. As a reminder, WRC members will not be eligible to run in the handicap race unless you volunteer at least 1 of the first 3 races.
Timings for the various roles are as follows:
- Course Setup volunteers (3 people) – needed from 18:00 for course setup at The Angel
- Registration and Timekeeping (2 people) – needed from 18:45 for registration at The Angel
- Course Marshals (12 people) – need to be out on the course before 19:30
Course set up volunteers can also run in the race; roles will be allocated on a first come first served basis until volunteer positions are full.
If you’d like to help at race 3 on 02 July, please fill in the form below by 12 noon on Wednesday 1 July 2026 – please note if we have enough volunteers before then I will close sign up and put the post up with the volunteers at that point.
As always, your support is very gratefully received!
Any questions reach out to me.
