August 2023 CMOTM

Our Club Member of the Month for August 2023 is Lysia Jiggins. Lysia was nominated for running 55 Miles at Outrun 24. This was after having an injury and not managing the training she had planned for it. Lysia is also one of the friendliest and most supportive members of the club.

We also had some great nominees this month, so here are the other nominees for August 2023:

• Mick Conroy – For being one of the most supportive, encouraging and friendly members of the club. Going the extra mile to help other members out (eg printing numbers for the Essex Way), keeping members company on longer runs, signing up for about 10 of his own races and being a cheerleader whenever members are out running.
• Beth Shippey – For her support art the Colchester 5K Series. Beth arrived well before 6pm and was cheering on our runners from this point. The last race started at 8pm and Beth was still there and still stayed on to take a photo of Mark and Owen on the podium which the ceremony finished well after 9pm
• Maggie Mason – For her sub 2 hour PB at the Clacton half marathon
• Ross Silverton – For running his 250^th parkrun. He runs a race or parkrun most weeks. He is also consistent and metronomic with his pacing. He is also a great club member
• Andy Lager – For being the men’s winner of the Tour of Terling set of races
• Vicki Riley – For being the women’s winner of the Tour of Terling set of races
