Suffolk Backyard Ultra

16 WRC runners took on the Suffolk Backyard Ultra at the weekend. The aim of the run is to complete a 4.16 mile loop every hour on the hour, until you either give up or don’t complete the loop on time. Amazing performances from all of our runners, with many achieving more than they did last year, but star of the show is Pete Banks, who completed 24 loops on time, totalling over 100 miles, and then he went to tackle loop 25. Just a sublime effort from Mr PB!

God of Thunder

Jonny Kempster and James Hopegood were at this Phoenix Running 6-hour timed event. Jonny came 1st on the standings, completing 32.8 miles in the allotted time, while James came 3rd with 29.5 miles. Great work gents, a 1st and 3rd for WRC!!

 

Stour Valley Marathon/Half Marathon

Dave Jobling was our sole competitor at this classic trail race in Nayland. Unfortunately for DJ, a tree root and barbed wire fencing conspired against him, which prompted a trip to A&E. Nonetheless, he completed the half marathon option in 2:53:04. Great work DJ!
