Alton Water Update

16 December 2015 - By Martyn Byford

The great news is that the forecast looks good and we have a large number of you coming along.

As previously mentioned unfortunately the Café there is closed so as an alternative to a flask and stale biscuits I have spoken to Ruths Garden Café ( CO11 1AG) in Manningtree that can accommodate us. Its about 3 miles from AW but on the way home so it could be a plan to run put some warm gear on and stop there? Perhaps decide Sunday?

Several people spoke to me Tuesday Night and said they were doing one lap, so if you were thinking 15 was too far then you will have company.

With regards footwear, whilst it could be muddy in sheltered places generally studs may be OTT so well worn trainers with some grip could be a wise choice.

For those driving for the first time the post code is IP9 2RY.

I look forward to seeing you there Sunday.

Martyn

I ran at AW last week and it wasn’t too bad but where it was muddy it was slippery. Glad I wore my studs.
Ruth’s Cafe sounds like a good venue but if the weather stays like this then a Christmas picnic on the benches at AW sounds like fun. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast…..
