Weekend results
3 October 2016 - By Marc Underdown
What a fabulous day out it was for our black and gold vests as many PB’s were smashed, which all bodes brilliantly for the autumn races and the cross country season which follows. I can already foresee some very difficult decision about deciding who are the most improved male and female runners this year as so many are going from strength to strength.
At Pleshey, we had 19 runners out taking part in the Essex Champs half marathon race with more than half of them bettering their previous best. Let’s face it, a PB is a PB whether you take 1 second or several minutes off your best but there is a lot of satisfaction in doing the latter, so a massive well done to Chris, Dave, Scott, Simon and Clare who I know all took a big chunk off their previous best times. All the times are below and please let us know if you got a PB and we haven’t shown that.
The PB’s continued at the Southend 10K, where Dave Campbell ran a superb 37:59. I also suspect that Mark Lynch’s time of 42:50 might also be a PB. Big Dave completed our trio of runners at the seaside, running 63:55 just a week after the Berlin marathon.
Well done to all.
