Watford Half Marathon
6 February 2017 - By Dawn Shilling
Today I travelled to Watford for the first half marathon of my challenge. The race started in Cassiobury park, running down hill through the woodland park for the first mile before heading out on to the road up a very Streep hill. After a couple of miles running around the housing estate, it headed on to the rural roads just passed mile three. From then the rural roads were quite undulating all the way with very steep hills at mile four and nine. The last half a mile took us back in to the park and again up an incline at the 200 meters to go marker. The route was then level ground to the finish. The race was very well organised with over 800 runners and pacers from 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes, I had a very good enjoyable run and my time was 2 hours 10 minutes 18 seconds
