parkrun – 12/09/2026

This week saw our runners at Maldon Prom, Chelmsford Central, Walton Promenade, Clayton Seafront, Chalkwell Beach, Heritage Coastal Path, Poole, The Wammy, Littleport, Finsbury, Sandy Water, Harwich, Great Notley and Barking.

Starting locally, at Maldon Prom we had Luke Jackson (21:15), Gus Maby (21:56), Leo Cole (23:03), Peter Banks (23:55), Steve Hookings (24:39), Darren Ward (28:35), Christine Wager (31:02), Christine Israel (31:11), Ian Cuthbert (31:11), Daniel Griffiths (33:01), Bethany Shippey (33:57) and Patrick Hinchliffe (37:44). Also nearby at Chelmsford Central we had the duo of Chris Beazeley (24:20) and Nichola Beazeley (26:52).

Walton Promenade saw regular  Michael Poulter (39:06), whilst down the coast at Clacton Seafront was Shawn Beckerleg (24:40), Trevor Johnson (25:02), Andrew Read (32:44), Angela Read (33:56) and Ann G Johnson (33:58).

Another coastal location in Harwich had James Montgomery (27:08) and Lisa Leader (46:23). Further down the coast visiting Chalkwell Beach was Stephen Sawyer (17:53).

Up in the north (not quite as far as Scotland), before they went and did a slightly longer than 5k race at Heritage Coastal Path was Geoffrey Reddin (25:53) and Ian Lucas (28:39). Hope you didn’t tire yourselves out too much!

Steven Alder (28:27) was attending a University reunion this week, managing to convince one of his friends to do a parkrun with him at The Wammy. Littleport saw Giles Sowerby (19:09) and Karen Pickering (20:40). Whilst over in London at Finsbury was Simon Gill (22:20) and Jamie Marlow (19:45) at Barking.

Sandy Water welcomed Andrew Smith (20:54), whilst going back toward home at Great Notley we had Dean Whittaker (22:24), John Flowers (32:37) and Lysia Jiggins (35:10).

The one parkrun in the world doing an extra

Previously I mentioned about a parkrun in Malaysia doing an extra parkrun on the 16th September for their extra day, and as only the one in Malaysia was going to host it, it meant they were the only one in the world to do a parkrun that day. Unfortunately they had to cancel last minute due to pollution levels. Some very disappointed parkrun tourists this week no doubt, but safety first!
