8 July 2024 - By Natalie Lilley

It was a very busy week, with several members racing more than once.

Haven’s Hospice Run for Business (5k)

This charity event for local businesses in Chelmsford was held on Wednesday, with members representing their companies rather than club for a change. I’m not convinced that young Mr Radley is part of “Team AON”, but a fantastic first place all the same 😊

Will Radley – 15:41 – 1st place!

James Attenborough – 21:44

Fiona Collins – 24:34

Karen Flowers 26:29 – SB

JP Morgan Corporate Challenge (5.6k)

Anita Grainger joined a cast of thousands at this popular London-based corporate charity run on Thursday in Battersea Park Anita finished in 31:06. 5 minutes of that was probably getting through the start, if prior experience is anything to go by!

Great Bentley 5 mile

Friday saw another club champs race taking place in ( I assume) Great Bentley. A decent turn out for what I believe was a very wet race!

Brands Hatch 10k

On to Saturday, and Jack Welch was running 10k around the track at Brands Hatch. He completed the 10k in 53:27 (Strava time – sorry Jack, couldn’t find an official result!).

Ridley Round

Essex Trail Events host “A run, walk or crawl down memory lane visiting a number of fantastic former Ridley’s pubs!  Half marathon (approx) in length, the trail race winds its way through beautiful rural countryside taking in the Essex Way and the Chelmer Valley.” I’ll let you decide who ran, who walked, and who crawled…

Andrew Smith 2:49:21
Andrew Read 4:01:46
Shane Ketteridge 4:01:46
Clarice Sanderson 4:01:46

(note, results are pre “time bonuses”, which I suspect may equate to drinks consumed..)

Ekiden Relays

Jodee has reported on this separately, so it only remains for me to publish the individual times. These are in slightly peculiar order, as the results were published in a PDF (I also think that the reorganised MV60 team legs aren’t reflecting correctly, sorry).
