The London Marathon

No doubt the biggest and famous race in the the UK running calendar, and despite the weather’s best efforts to dampen everyone’s spirits WRC were out there and finishing with aplomb. There were a number of incredible performances, but we have to start with Mr Peter Coates, finishing in 2:28 in an incredible 82nd place. To put the performance in perspective, it was only 18 minutes behind Mo Farah, and only 10 minutes behind the ladies winner. He finished in the top 0.3% of the runners that took part, stamping out a new open club record, and obviously a new PB to boot. Mind blowing. Next up, the Heydonator continues to smash club records and his own records with an incredible 2:41. I’ve also included Pete Banks in the results this week, for his Guinness World record breaking run, being the new fastest man to finish the London Marathon dressed as a star. For the ladies, Emelye Dwyer took 6 minutes off the V35 club record, finishing in a fantastic time of 3:10. Incredible running everyone.
