Plenty of action this weekend, with lots of fixtures going on.

 

C2C Ultra

James Blackshaw took on this ultra event, taking in some of the C2C rail route from Upminster to Southend. JB opted for the 50 mile distance (30 miles also available) and completed the course in 9:14:08. Well done!

 

Copenhagen Half Marathon

Martyn Saville was in Copenhagen for this popular Half, which has elite and public sections. Martyn finished in 1:53:45, in conditions that were reportedly “wetter than an otter’s pocket”.

 

Pleshey Half Marathon

A great turn out as expected for this County Champs race.  Some fantastic performances across the board, with Owen Dare picking up County MV60 Gold and a new club record, and Jamie Davidson grabbing County MV45 Silver. I’ve posted the race and County Champs positions, where available. (remember, finishing in the top 25 of your age category in a CC race will score points).

Basildon Half Marathon

Ian Cuthbert ran this inaugural Half, and smashed his PB target, with a time of 1:26:37. Great running, Ian!

We had three members over the border completing this 10k.

Swansea Bay 10k

Dan Griffiths and Beth Shippey were in Wales for the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k.

Dan finished in 38:23, the 5^th out of 33 Griffithses.  Beth crossed the line in 1:11:15 – well done both!

 

Thaxted Trail HM

We had two WRC runners at this ETE self-navigation event, both opting for the half (full marathon was also available).

Terry Alabaster finished in joint 2^nd place, in 2:01:09, and Penny Clarke finished in 3:47:56.

 

Roman River Trails Marathon

Completing this trail event hosted by Hare and Tortoise we had

8th Bill Smythe 5:19:17

 

Suffolk Coastal Path 50k

Father and daughter were out on this coastal trail 50k from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh. Ian Lucas completed his first ever ultra in 7:15:50, with Claire finishing in an impressive 6:51:55. Well done, Lucases!
