Wow, what a lot of events, and amazing results this week/end! I’ve been inundated with submissions – thank you. Please do let me know if I’ve missed anything, as there was a LOT to sift through!

Tarmac Twister

This ever-popular, slightly strange ETE event is a narrative run through the streets and alleyways of Chelmer Village, in the dark. On a Wednesday.

Race the River 10k

This event,  hosted by Edmonton Running Club, is a trail 10k along the River Lee (or Lea, apparently both are valid. Yes I did look it up). Clarice and Lysia were the sole attendees:

  • Lysia Jiggins – 1:08:41 – FV50 winner
  • Clarice Sanderson – 1:09:32

Well done both!

Royal Parks Half Marathon

“London’s original half marathon”, through closed roads and taking in 4 Royal Parks. Sounds lovely!

Tiptree 10

An equally strong showing at this local favourite and club champs 10 miler.

A hatful of PBs, 2 new club records, and our first three men home got second team (not sure if there was a prize for this). There might have been one more PB, but having smashed the MV50 club record, Heydon thought he could take it easy over the line, and missed out by 4 seconds. Oh Heydon.

Chicago Marathon

Just when you thought you couldn’t fit any more action into this week, Gus Maby and Annalise Etherington were off in Chicago! With a tracker glitch leaving half the club worrying that Annalise had fallen over in the last couple of miles, the results finally came through, with both doing brilliantly.

Name Time Comments
Gus Maby 3:33:27 7 minute PB
Annalise Etherington 4:28:28

Well done and thanks to all that donned the black & gold 🖤💛
