It’s hard to know where to start with this week’s results, with so many races, and so many members knocking it out of the park!

 

Chelmsford Marathon/Half Marathon

We had good numbers out in both distances (especially considering the clash with Tiptree 10), and some fantastic performances – PBs, a club record smashed, and age group podiums. We also had 3^rd lady overall, from Vicky Hunt and, if all that wasn’t enough, Will Radley stormed home in first place!

Tiptree 10

Not to be outdone by the goings-on in Chelmsford, we had over 30 members running in Tiptree, with plenty of PBs, and a couple of age group podiums. We fared very well in the team competitions too, with the men coming in 2nd, and women in 5th place. Lovely to see some returning members in the Black & Gold too 😊 Lastly, well done to Adam, Annalise and Craig who ran as pacers.

Royal Parks Half

We had three runners (that I know of) at this popular balloted half in London. Well done to Katy and Gemma who both got great PBs.

Chicago Marathon

Only 2 results to report from this Major marathon, but what results they are! Jamie Davidson smashed through the 3 hour barrier, and Owen managed to break his own club record, and win bronze for his age group. Stunning!

Southend Pier Marathon

Among all of the huge events going on over the weekend, Ian Cuthbert was one of only 100 runners at the Southend Pier Marathon, advertised as “a full marathon over the sea on the longest pier in the world”  Ian completed what I can only assume was a somewhat monotonous marathon in a very impressive 3:16:43 (Strava time). Well done, Ian!
