Shotley 50
Sarah Colbert took on this epic LDWA 50 mile event, finishing in 12 hours 15 minutes. Great work!
Dedham 10k
Helen Came was out in the picturesque Constable country for the Dedham 10k, and completed the course in 57:25. Fantastic effort.
Pleshey Half Marathon
Last half marathon of the club championship, and it was perfect weather conditions for this flat course. Only joking, it was ridiculously hot and hilly. Nonetheless, it didn’t stop the Heydonator from slicing more than 3 minutes off the club record, and nor did it stop a number of people getting PBs, including yours truly. And the next person to say I was only faster because of my new shoes is going to get sliced in the gizzard. The Darneys provided some head scratching for the organisers, with Scott using it as a training run and taking a short cut home, and Sean refusing to wear the timing chip in case it ruined his trainers. Big congratulations to Mark Austin, who, due to his performance at Pleshey, has all but secured an Essex Championship gold!
