Folkestone Half Marathon

25 September 2017 - By Dawn Shilling

Yesterday I ran the 9th half marathon in my challenge at Folkestone, Kent, It was a good tough course starting at the Lees then 2 miles in heading downhill towards the sea front. The sea front was very hot with not much breeze on the outward run, however the return 3 miles along the front was tough and very breezy. At 11 and a half miles the route climbed a short hill through the Tower Lees Coastal Park and then followed a larger longer hill at mile 12. The last mile and running towards the finish was extremely hot! I had a good enjoyable run and finished in 2 hours 5 minutes.

I now have only 3 half marathons this year and one full marathon at Brighton next in my challenge. I am raising money for the three small Prince’s Charities I work for. If you would like to sponsor me I will be bringing my sponsor form to the club on Tuesday.

Can’t believe you have completed 9 half marathons already Dawn. That’s an amazing achievement and you’re not done yet! Congrats! Have you sown your vest onto another top?! Congrats again. Martina
