Felsted 10k Report and Others!

Hi – it was good to see the pic of our club members at the Felsted 10k printed in the Braintree and Witham Times. Unfortunately the report of the race that I sent in wasn’t reproduced hardly at all! For all those who were there here is the report that I sent in plus other races that weekend:

Witham Running Club had a contingent of 24 runners (pictured) at the Felsted 10k with Peter Coates taking the honours in 3rd place overall in 32.17, followed by Pete Riley 38.49, Scott Darney 40.16, Sam Hadjer 40.36 (PB), Daniel Griffiths 40.48 (PB), Leo Cole 40.59, Simon Cresswell 41.38, David Carey 43.05 and Simon Scott 44.29 (PB), then first club lady Sharon Read 47.53, Clive Smith 47.56, Lindsey Morgan 51.25, Ben Roberts 53,46, Anita Grainger 55.25, Samantha Martin 56.48 (PB), Celine Elson 56.50 (PB), Ross Silverton 57.00, Sarah Naughton 57.38, Anthony Smith 58.17, Karen Flowers 63.25, Natalie Lilley 63.54, Bethany Shippey 70.13, Kerry Townsend 70.58 and Jodee Mayer 71.14.

At the Wendover Woods 50k Overnight Ultra with over 6,000ft of elevation Matt Jordan completed the course in 5.12.18 for an incredible 7th place out of 169 runners.

Over at Gosfield Liz Stuckey took on the Olympic Distance Triathlon in 2.51.14, and at the Sprint Distance Triathlon Heydon Mizon and Angela Wray finished in 1.20.01 and 1.21.45 respectively. Meanwhile Andy Notley kept up his good form in winning the Aquabike event (swim/cycle) in 1.32.37.

Dawn Shilling ran the Olympic Park 10k in 54.40.

At the Great Museum event trail specialist Terry Alabaster finished runner-up in 43.26.

At the Maldon Handicap 5k Stephen Sawyer just missed the podium finishing 4th in 17.54, followed by Adam Hocken 24.54, Dawn Shilling 25.36 (PB) and finally Joe McEwan in exactly 34 minutes.
