Witham and Braintree Track 5k – Thursday 20th May, 8pm

Witham Running Club and Braintree Athletics Club will be linking up for a friendly inter-club Track 5k Time Trial. This will replace the Spring WRC Track 5k Race for this year and will give athletes of both clubs the opportunity to test themselves over 5k on the track.

This is open to all members of WRC and Braintree AC, regardless of speed or ability.

The event will take place on Thursday 20th May at the Braintree Athletics Track / Braintree Leisure Centre, Panfield Lane, Braintree CM7 1FF  with a special thank you to Simon Mennell and Braintree AC for allowing us to join them on the track.

Runners will set-off together in 2 or 3 waves (depending on numbers) with the first wave starting at 8pm sharp.  The waves will be decided by predicted finishing time.

Please note:

• The race HQ and warm-up area will be the concrete concourse area before you enter the track.
• This area can also be used to perform your warm-up and cool down.
• Please do not enter the track area until you are called for your race.
• Please exit the track as soon as possible after the end of your race.
• Please be mindful of social distancing and adhere to all current Covid guidelines.

We will close the sign up at 12:00 on race day, to give us time to work out the waves/races, which we will then publish in a separate post.
