Essex Way Relay 2nd September
25 June 2018 - By Bill smythe
Ladies and gents, it’s tme again for the Essex Way Relay. This is a 10 leg relay from Epping to Harwich crossing our lovely countryside. The relay is made up of 10 stages of various distances. See below. The race is run as a relay but there is no handover to the next runner and scores are done on finishing places so there is no pressure to get to the finish before a set time. The Essex Way is a fantastic scenic route and follows fairly well defined paths. The course is not marshalled but instructions are available from the Essex Way website. A recce of the route is recommended.
Please let me know if you wish to run by entering through the link on the web site.
STAGE 1 EPPING – CHIPPING ONGAR 7.5 miles
STAGE 2 CHIPPING ONGAR – GOOD EASTER 9.5 miles
STAGE 3 GOOD EASTER – LITTLE LEIGHS 9.5 miles
STAGE 4 LITTLE LEIGHS – CRESSING 10.1 miles
STAGE 5 CRESSING – GREAT TEY 9.4 miles
STAGE 6 GREAT TEY – WEST BERGHOLT 5.7 miles
STAGE 7 WEST BERGHOLT – DEDHAM 11.2 miles
STAGE 8 DEDHAM – BRADFIELD 8.0 miles
STAGE 9 BRADFIELD – RAMSAY 5.3 miles
STAGE 10 RAMSAY – HARWICH LIGHTHOUSE 5.5 miles
We will also be looking after leg 5 from Cressing and I will need some volunteers please to record runners as they depart and arrive and to provide some water at the finish.

Hi Bill, I can marshal over at Cressing
Bill,
Love to join in. Have run two of the legs before so running one of the same ones again would increase the chance of me arriving at the correct finish! Think I ran the last leg, last year.
Hi Bill
Please can you put me & Dawn Shilling down for the Great Tey to West Bergholt leg (Stage 6) – Thanks Ross
