parkrun – 27/06/2026

And just like that, the first half of the year is over, but plenty more parkruns to be done. Witham RC were in Chelmsford Central, Maldon Prom, Christchurch Park, Great Notley, Sizewell, Markshall, Fulbourn Hospital, Pocket, Walton Promenade, Harwich, Sheringham and Chalkwell Beach.

The Reads were enjoying themselves in Harwich, with Andrew doing the 5k in 28:08 and Angela in 32:39. Mike Struthers was hunting for Royals at Sheringham, with a time of 36:38, whilst Glen ‘Wally’ Waller went off to Chalkwell Beach in 30:24. Further down the coast was Lee Tooey at Walton Promenade, in a time of 22:44.

Giles Sowerby went off to Pocket, where he was 5th overall in a time of 19:05 and Steven Alder went to Cambridge to complete Fulbourn Hospital in a time of 33:11. Geoffrey Reddin went off to Sizewell, hoping to hear no alarms from the power plant, where he grabbed a time of 25:31. Adam Hocken went to Ipswich, completing Christchurch Park in 26:29.

Over at Markshall this week saw Chris Pugh (18:19 and 1st place – almost 2 minutes ahead of 2nd place), Andrew Smith (33:38), Ann Johnson (35:03), Kerry Townsend (36:06) and Dionne Radley (37:34). Great Notley saw Karen Pickering (21:13), Keith Taylor (27:56) and Nick Manley (29:23).

Maldon Prom was very popular this week! Well done to Jamie Marlow (19:14, parkrun PB, 1st SM30-34 and 4th overall), Stamatis Katsimis (23:22), Steve Hookings (24:34), Chris Beazeley (25:34), Vicki Riley (26:02), Dean Whittaker (26:14), James Attenborough (27:24). Nichola Beazeley (27:52), Christine Wager (29:53), Darren Pyne (30:58), Ian Cuthbert (30:58), Chrissy Israel-Jones (30:58), Karen Flowers (31:45), Lisa Leader (32:07), Jodee Mayer (36:44), Natalie Lilley (36:45), Sarah Naughton (36:46), Joe McEwan (38:44) and Patrick Hinchliffe (40:37).

Lastly, at Chelmsford Central was Leo Cole (21:34), Dan Griffiths (23:26), Kevin Harper (23:54), Nadia McLeod (25:15) and Beth Shippey (39:46). Well done everyone!

parkrun – 2nd half of 2026

The second half of the year offers 31 remaining parkrun opportunities: 26 Saturdays, plus Canada Day (1 July), Singapore Day (9 August), Malaysia Day (16 September), Thanksgiving in the USA (26 November) and Christmas Day (25 December).
