WRC GB Age Group Triathlon Team 2021

22 April 2021 - By Anita Grainger

They might hide in the shadows and pop up occasionally at club sessions while juggling swim bike and run sessions, whilst doing so four of our WRC members have qualified for the GB Age Triathlon team for 2021.

First off the blocks are Rach Pearsons, following on from her representation in 2019 and Anita Grainger making her debut in the GB team. Rachel and Anita are off to Walchsee in the Tirol region of Austria at the end of June ( fingers crossed) to compete in the European Middle Distance Championships for Middle Distance Aquabike ( 1.9km swim & 90km bike) and may do a bit of yodelling in the mountains.

Next up are the World Long Distance championships in Almere, Holland at the beginning of September. Andy Notley will make his debut for the GB team joined by Rachel & Anita in the ironman distance Aquabike Championship (3.8km swim, 180kmbike)

And lastly but not least our own Age Group European Sprint Distance Champion Angela Wray is off to Valencia, Spain later in September to defend her title in the European Sprint Distance Triathlon Championships, followed by the World sprint distance championship in Bermuda in October

Keeping everything crossed these go ahead.

A shout out to Tony Wallen and Stuart Mills who are also representing GB. They have both qualified for the European Age Group Cross Duathlon Champs in Italy in September. Stuart is also taking part in the Cross Triathlon Champs just two days later.
