Winter 5k 28/11/24

The first Winter 5k is taking place on Thursday 28 November. This will replace the usual speed development session.

Time:

We do not have access to the track until 8pm, but we will be in the cafe at around 7.40pm for registration. I will have bibs and safety pins as usual.

If you want to warm up before 8pm please do not use the track.

The race will start at approx 8:10pm – we have the track booked until 9pm and this should allow most, if not all, to complete the 5k.

Venue:

Colchester Gateway, Cuckoo Farm Way, Colchester, CO4 5YX.

There is car parking on site – parking is free but you need to enter your registration number into one of the tablets in the main building. Do not forget to do this, there is no way to rectify it if you forget. If you can offer a lift, or need a lift, please comment below or on the Facebook page.  Car sharing, as always, is encouraged.

Course:

5 laps of the 1km loop as per the picture below (this is without the bit with the slight incline that was part of the Essex Road Relays!). It is about as flat as you can get.

Volunteers please!

Please could we have some volunteers for the following roles, with arrival for 8pm, please.

• Timekeeper (1 person)
• Lap counters (6-8 people)
• Marshals (2 people)

If you could sign up below with your preferred role please. Roles will be allocated on a first come first served basis until volunteer positions are full.
