Week 7 of the virtual pub runs and there are 50 members who have taken part since the start and have visited pubs from Wakes Colne to Cold Norton covering an area of 745km2. The link on the website showing a map of where members have run has been updated.
Chelmsford AC Virtual 1 mile
Times must be recorded between May 25th 12am and May 29th 12pm – as with our own SD Champs, times should be posted on Strava or a photo taken of your watch and sent to our Facebook page.
SD & Front Door Rogue 5k series
The first 5k is this week and results should be posted by midnight on Saturday.
All details are on the Facebook group. Entry to the Front Door 5k is optional; you get a free hat as part of the entry. Results for the WRC SD 5k will still be captured. Did anyone spot the deliberate Red mistake.
The Thursday virtual speed development sessions will be aimed at improving your speed over these distances. Details will follow on website. Proposed dates for next races below.

Welcome to WRC to all our new virtual members. Please make the most of the virtual events we are hosting. You can still join the virtual pub runs if you wish.
Virtual Ekiden Relay -10th – 12th July
The organisers of the event, with support from Ipswich Jaffa are going to host this as a Virtual event! It’s free to enter with only a donation to the Essex Air Ambulance asked instead. See website post for more information.
New Facebook page
We now have a Facebook page as well as the group. Please like the page and tell your friends. The page will be used as a point of contact for new prospective members and another way of communicating. The Facebook group will be slightly changed now only allowing paid up club members to join.
Self Isolation & support
If you are in self isolation and need some support please reach out to WRC, I am sure all members would be happy to help. There is also a post from Jason and Jo, our welfare reps on the website.
Further fun events to start soon are “Run the Rock”, Strava Art and “Spell that Word” by street names.

WRC V-RAT 1000
James Blackshaw is keeping track of all the members taking on the Virtual Race Across Tennessee challenge. Updates are being posted on Facebook Group. Keep strong everyone.
