Tuesday Announcements 23rd June
23 June 2020 - By Bill Smythe
“I could feel my anger dissipating as the miles went by–you can’t run and stay mad!”
A return to some group running
Running in organised groups of up to 6 people is allowed outside and has been risk assessed. Please only run on quieter country roads and off road. Please do not arrange groups around town, it is very difficult to maintain a safe 2m distance due to stopping at roads etc. More details and guidance on the website. Look forward to seeing you all soon.
As I write this, the Government announces that pubs can reopen from 4th July so maybe we will still manage to get a pub run in this year.
Club Member of the Month
Congratulations to Shannon Wing who is this months CMOTM. Despite being very new to running, Shannon chose to sign up to the Great Virtual Race Across Tennessee. She started off walking many of the 36 miles per week required to finish the challenge and has gradually increased the amount of running she does. Having never run more than a 10k before she has now managed several long runs, and in May she quadrupled her previous highest monthly mileage. Great work Shannon and well deserved.
We have created a new Facebook page as a point of contact for non-members. Please like the page to make it more visible on Facebook.
