McMillan Running Coaches’ Tips
EA have issued an update to their guidance following announcement by the Government to ease restrictions now allowing up to 6 people to meet outside whilst maintaining social distancing. Committee will be meeting on 15th to discuss how and if we can make any changes.
Week 8 of the virtual pub runs and there are 50 members who have taken part since the start and have now visited over 90 pubs. Can we reach 100 by the end of next week. The link on the website showing a map of where members have run has been updated.

SD summer / Front Door Rogue 5k series
15 ladies and 26 men took part in the WRC virtual summer 5k race 1. Some great results recorded with Liz Stuckey leading the ladies home and Charlie Pridmore leading the men.

6 runners also entered the first race. Great results and Scott takes back the Darney brothers speed crown.

Self Isolation & support
If you are in self isolation and need some support please reach out to WRC, I am sure all members would be happy to help. There is also a post from Jason and Jo, our welfare reps on the website.
The “Spell that Word” by street names will be the next Tuesday event starting after the virtual pub runs, details to follow.
Other fun events to start soon are “Run the Rock” and Strava Art .
Virtual Ekiden Relay -10th – 12th July
The organisers of the event, with support from Ipswich Jaffa’s are going to host this as a Virtual event! It’s free to enter with only a donation to the Essex Air Ambulance asked instead. See website post for more information.

WRC V-RAT 1000
The first month of this event has passed and everyone has completed over 150 miles. Peter Banks leads the charge completing an incredible 264.9 miles and Karen Flowers leads the ladies with another incredible 211.4 miles. Well done everyone, fantastic effort.
