Strava Art WRC

12 July 2020 - By Tom Ashley

Strava Art has come to Witham Running Club!

Over the coming weeks there will be a number of “artistic” challenges. Each challenge will have a window of just under 2 weeks to complete and you can enter as many times as you like for each challenge. All entries will be via the Witham Running Club Facebook page with a new thread.

For those of you who are new to Strava Art, it is very simple. You plan a route that will result in an image of something on the map once uploaded to Strava. You can run, walk, jog, cycle, skip, hopscotch your way to your arty goal! Distance and pace are irrelevant.

Challenge 1: Anything!
(Monday 13 July – Friday 24th July)

Allow your creative juices to run wild in this first challenge! It is down to you to map out anything you like (from a fish to a flower or even our chairman’s face). Submit a screen shot from your Strava upload and provide a title for your “master piece” along with a picture of what it is meant to be.

Challenge 2: Emoji!
(Monday 27 July – Friday 7 August)

Select your favourite emoji and map it out. Will it be a happy or sad face or the always entertaining aubergine?! When you submit a screen shot, please also include the emoji.

Challenge 3: Word Up!
(Monday 10 August – Friday 28 August)

Can you create a running route that spells out ‘Run’, ‘Witham’ or even ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’ – the choice is yours! If you’re stuck with what word to spell, get a dictionary and open it up on a random page. As with the other challenges, please submit a screen shot of your Strava map and write what the word is too.
