Speed Development – Thursday 06 February 2025

We are kicking off the next speed development block with a simple sounding session of 60s efforts, 30s recovery repeated 20 times!
Meet at the junction of Porter Way and Raven Drive on the Redrow Estate (w3w///daisy.dish.empire) for a 7.30pm start having done a warm up of at least 10 minutes (1-2 miles is ideal). We will then run some warm up drills before the 30 minute session. Runners can then do a lap or 2 of cool down and then we will do some cool down stretches.
The pace for your 60s efforts should be at a fairly hard effort, with the recoveries being (given the likely temperature) at a brisk walking pace so that you can give your all to the efforts. The aim, as always, is to run the last effort at the same pace as the first, if not a little quicker.
As a word of warning, we will not be using a whistle for this session. Given how simple it is, please programme it into your watch if you can, otherwise you have only got to keep an eye out for 60s and 30s on your watch (or run with someone who has programmed).
